Sasa Curcic signs with Motherwell
March 16, 2000

Sasa Curcic has found a new team, signing with Scotland's Motherwell on a short-term deal after impressing on trial. "When I came here I was impressed with how the club thinks," he was quoted. "It's a big club and everyone wants to do well. It was a great opportunity for me and it wasn't a difficult decision to make. I just want to play football and nothing else and after all my problems I'm just looking forward."

Curcic was removed from the MetroStars roster in January. "We're having a difficult time seeing how Sasa is going to fit into our salary-cap picture and the overall picture of our starting 11," Nick Sakiewicz said in January. "He makes a lot of money. Stylistically, right now we need goal scorers. He's more of a playmaking midfielder. We need guys who can put the ball in the back of the net."
